DRUG ARRESTS
Members of the Drug Squad arrested and charged:
Emmanuel Walston, 49 year old Grenadian National, of Carriacou, a Seaman on an inter-island cargo vessel, for Possession, Possession with intent to supply, Trafficking and Importation of 263 grammes (half pound) of cannabis whilst at the Bridgetown Port on Sunday 20th June 2010. The illegal drugs were found on his body after a search.
On Monday 21st June 2010, he appeared before Magistrate Birch at the District A Magistate Court and pleaded guilty to the charges. He was fined $1000. BC to be paid by the 23rd June 2010, or 3 months in prison. He was CRD for the offence of Possession, and the other charges were withdrawn.
On the Tuesday 22nd June, 2010,a search warrant was executed by Members of the Drug Squad at the residence of Kiplyn Hallam Ifill, 33 year old truck driver of Mapp Hill, St. Michael, and 0.5 grammes of cannabis, one .32 firearm, and 6 rounds of ammunition were found.
He was arrested and charged for the offences of:
- Illegal possession of cannabis;
- Illegal possession of a .32 firearm; and
- Illegal possession of 6 rounds of .32 ammunition
On Wednesday 23rd June 2010, he appeared before Magistrate Pamela Beckles, at the District A Magistrate Court and was remanded unitl 21st July 2010.
