JEWELLERY TO BE IDENTIFIED

Investigations are continuing by members of the Criminal Investigations Division (CID), where over 100 pieces of jewellery were seized from a woman in her 20’s, as she attempted to leave the island on Saturday morning , 10th April 2010, for the United States.

It is believed that this seizure has a direct link to the ‘Gold for Cash’ promotion presently in the United States.

The Force has been challenged with a number of street robberies which have occurred throughout the year, where jewellery, cell phones and money were targeted. We are appealing to persons to be vigilant at all times and not to wear conspicuous amounts of jewellery.

The Force is appealing to those persons who have been victims of crime where their gold jewellery had been stolen, to come to the CID Central Office at the District A Police between the hours of 9.00 am and 5.30 pm to view the jewellery.
