ILLEGAL DRUGS SEIZED AND MEN REMANDEDA joint operation involving the Drug Squad, RBPF Marine Unit, the Barbados Coast Guard and the RSS, was conducted at sea off South Point, Christ Church, around 11.45 pm on Tuesday 17th August 2010, and as a result a Barbados registered fishing boat was intercepted, and 11 polyphene bags of cannabis seized. The fishing boat was also seized. Three Barbadian men on board are now in custody assisting with investigations into the matter. During the operation one of the men was injured; he was taken to the QEH where he was treated and discharged. Richard Alexander Alleyne, 32 year, of Gilkes Land, Hindsbury Road, St. Michael; Chesterfield Orlando Harewood, 38 years, of 2nd Avenue Vauxhall, Christ Church; and Marvin Selwyn Walcott, 34 years, of Pilgrim Place Road, Christ Church, appeared at the District A Traffic before Magistrate Christopher Birch and they were remanded until 25th August 2010, to reappear at the Oistins Magistrate Court.
