Omar Tito De-Angelo Callender, 29 years of Strakers Tenantry Road, Black Rock, St. Michael was arrested and charged that he on the 11th of May 2010 being lawfully sworn as a witness in a judicial proceeding namely the trial Regina vs. Corey Ferdinand willfully made a statement material in that proceeding.. which he knew to be false or did not believe to be true.
On the 11th May 2010, Callender was a sworn witness in the cases of Possession of firearm and ammunition against Corey Antonio Ferdinand called at the Barbados Supreme Court # 5 before Justice Randall Worrell on and prosecuted by Deputy Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Donna Babb-Agard. He gave evidence contrary to what he had previously given, thus causing the case against Ferdinand to be withdrawn.
Callender is expected to appear at the District A Magistrate Court on Friday 14th May 2010.
