MEN CHARGED FOR DRUG OFFENCES

The Drug Squad of the Royal Barbados Police Force arrested and charged Jason Lee Casanova, 36 years, a Welsh national of Cardiffe, Wales, UK., and Richard Herbert Jones, 46 years, of Constitution Road, St. Michael for the following drug offences which occurred on the 8th July 2010.

The two persons were at the Grantley Adams International Airport, where Jones was attempting to leave the island for the UK, but was intercept by members of the Drug Squad. A bottle containing liquid cocaine (unestimated) was seized.

Both men were jointly charged for the offence of Conspiracy to traffic cocaine.
Casonova was charged for Trafficking cocaine.
Jones received charges for the following offences:

  1. Possession of Cocaine,
  2. Trafficking of Cocaine,
  3. Possession with intent to supply and
  4. Attempting to export.

They are expected to appear at the District A Magistrate Court, Bridgetown on Saturday 10th July 2010. .
