TWO PERSONS ARRESTED FOR ILLEGAL DRUG OFFENCES

A warrant was executed by the Drug Squad on the 16th June 2010, at the residence of Carl Dacosta Edwards, 42 years, of Vauxhall, Christ Church. He was arrested and charged for the following offences, when 500 cannabis plants were discovered growing in the back yard of his residence and a quantity of loose cannabis, weighing 24.97 kgs was found in his house.

He was charged for the following:

  1. Illegal possession of cannabis,
  2. Possession with intent to supply and
  3. Cultivating cannabis plants.

On the 17th June 2010, he appeared at the District B Magistrate Court and pleaded guilty to all charges, he was sentenced to one year in prison.

  1. Christopher Andre Marsh, 29 years, (taxi driver) of Salisbury, St. George, was arrested and charged for the following offences:
    1. Illegal possession of cannabis
    2. Trafficking
    3. Possession with intent to supply and
    4. Wasteful employment of the Police services

    As a result of an operation carried out by the Drug Squad, the vehicle which the accused Marsh was driving and in which the drugs were found (21 bales, weight 1115 lbs), was intercepted at Ocean View Road, near Landsdown, Christ Church, and he ran away. He subsequently made a false report to a police station that he was robbed of the vehicle that he was driving.

    On Saturday 19th June, 2010., he appeared at the District A Magistrate Court and was remanded to re-appear at the District B Magistrate Court on Tuesday 22nd June 2010.
